A Morning Stroll
So since it's been the festive season, I've barely stepped over the door. Instead I have feasted, partied and had a fantastic time spending it with family and friends. But today was the day I would actually move and do something fun and active, a walk across the Firth in Fortrose & Rosemarkie was the plan. I don't think I had seen the sunrise for a while so it was about time I viewed it's beauty once again. Setting off to Fortrose Lighthouse to begin with just as the sun was coming up meant I could capture the beauty that Scotland has.
As you can see it really was a beautiful sight and I was able to catch some great colours and shadows in my photographs. The lovely hint of orange mixed with the light blue captures a sense of morning freshness. I really couldn't have asked for a better morning. Here are a few more shots of the surrounding beach and view.
I was also able to take out my new christmas toy, Canon AE-1 with a 50mm lens. It's a film based camera so the photographs won't be uploaded until I get the spool developed. Wether they turn out well or not is another question, we shall see.
After the quick visit at Fortrose we took a trip to visit the fairies(I know there aren't any) at Fairy Glen in Rosemarkie. It was a difficult walk with the frozen weather but the sights were magnificent and it showed there was plenty of greenery still about in the frozen Highlands.
Managed to capture a nice photograph of the parents, since I'm a lovely son like that...
The fairies then gave us a helping hand along the path by crafting a bit of rope onto the mountainside. This will help those who can't stand on two feet... aka. my mum.
As we reached the end of the path the light was shining through the woodland and we knew we would be home soon....
This wee trip was the perfect way to wake you up, fresh air and beautiful sights to capture with your other eye. Perfect morning!
Now to go back into hiding and continue my dissertation until New Year where I shall be photographing the Official Hogmanay party in Edinburgh, my biggest gig to date! Performing at it shall be Lilly Allen, Bjorn Again, Twin Atlantic, The Twilight Sad and Hot Dub Time Machine, just to name a few. It sure looks as if it will be a hectic but insanely fun night!
