Rhumbaaaa! Festival of House!

Well I still can't get over the night I had on Saturday! Also can't get over the fact I didn't blog and blether about it leading up to the night.... probably the nerves!

What did I do I hear you ask? Photographed my first live event, that's what! Yes I've photographed club nights and even an acoustic night for the Life Science Society's Gaudi Night, but never have I done a proper event/mini festival. What an experience it was aswell!

Festival of House was hosted by the Rhumba Club, a club night which has been running for over 20 years throughout Scotland! It was a house music festival which was held at Fat Sams, Dundee and luckily myself and my colleague Craig had secured the photography position for the main event! With influential house DJ's such as Chicago's very own Jackmaster Flash to current main acts Jeremy Olander and James Zabeila, this night had EPIC written all over it! And it certainly lived up to the expectations, cementing my desire to live the life of a concert photographer.

It was a surreal experience and it continues this Friday when I get a chance to photograph my first live gig also at Fat Sams Live. The unlucky bands will be Model Aeroplanes and headliners Fatherson who I have followed and been a fan of for a while!

All work will be posted on my Photography portfolio site, ryanjohnston.co

In the meantime spread the word!
